I just enlisted in the navy and its looking like im heading to San Diego coming from Louisiana and never been to Cali i have no clue what to expect. Can you just give me any info you think would be helpful about san diego,my wife and 2 kids are also coming along. I really dont know anything about the area so any kind of info at all will be helpful.

Thank you for enlisting and beginning your service here.
Are you going to be on based in barracks or are they going to be putting you off base? Not sure where you will be stationed either? Pendleton? San Diego County is massive so probably when you give us an idea of where you will be locally, everyone can give their input respectively.
Oh one last thing, in California no one calls it "Cali" except tourists.

Thanks for the tip on the calling it Cali lol. Im not 100% sure on which base i will be at but im 99% sure i will be living off base.

We need to know which base. As soon as you get your orders stating which base you'll be stationed at, let us know and we can give you more information. If you just enlisted, I'm not sure if you can live off base, your rank may not be high enough, but your family will be able live off base.
