PM = Private Message, although the software City Data uses calls it a 'Direct Message'. Click on anyone's name and you should see an option that says 'Send a direct message to..........'

You're welcome. Definitely when you come out in October just spend some time going through the area. It sounds like you're doing the due diligence that is required. We went through the same thing before we bought a house.

Before, we planned on buying a home closer to the ocean in La Jolla but you can get so much more for the money out in 92127. Plus the schools are excellent and you are still near enough to the city to get in and out and traffic isn't bad except rush hour. But we were amazed that we can still make it to Del Mar in 15 minutes.

It's a HUGE plus if it's close to your husband's work which he will enjoy. The entire area is really easy to get around. It's very peaceful out there as well and depending on your neighborhood you live in, you have gorgeous mountain backdrops and it's really beautiful.

With Google Maps you can easily check out ahead of time what is in the area. But you have easy access to plenty of grocery stores, banks, stores, fast food, restaurants, shops, etc.

Good schools were a big part of our decision to live out there with 2 young kids so I'm sure you will appreciate that as well. In fact, a good school district was probably one of the most important factors in where we decided to live. As you know, having kids is a true "game changer".

Based on everything you mentioned, I think you will be really happy out there.

Good schools, safe neighborhoods are our biggest concerns, but from what I am hearing about 92127, I think its one less thing for me to worry about. I hear a lot of how bad traffic can be in San Diego, that's why we wanted something close to my husband's work. How long would it take to get to downtown San Diego, say North Park or University Heights? we have a couple of friends who live out there, and we'd like to visit here and there, mostly on the weekends. Is the traffic bad on the weekends as well?

From 92127 you can get on Hwy 56 and be at the beach in 10-15 minutes.

During non-rush hours, it seems like everything in San Diego is under a half-hour away. Probably less from 92127 to North Park or University Heights.
