I jumped on these boards a couple months ago armed with plenty of facts. But much of the color was missing. Between a friend on the ground in San Diego and this forum, I was able to flush out the details of what is truly America's Finest City.

Honorable mentions have to go to Sassberto, Imperial, Sdurbanite & Kettlepot.

CalTam - having grown up in VA (dale city) and knowing how Fairfax cops suffer a nazi complex, I sympathize and wish you luck getting home. You get a shout as you spread the love, keep it up.

To everyone else who've answered my posts, threads & direct messages, thank you. I give to you, a little gem from Philadelphia, XPN, Public Radio from the University of Pennsylvania: WXPN 88.5 FM :: Public Radio from the University of Pennsylvania The station rocks and isn't your typical college radio. There's no commercials and nothing mainstream. Enjoy.

I click "Submit New Thread" then walk out of my Philly office for the final time, pack the car then retire from the east coast hustle. See you in Sunny San Diego.

Good luck, see you here, hope you like it.

Interestingly, the first guy I spoke to in San Diego when I arrived here was some dude from Philly. I was moving stuff into storage, he was taking stuff out.

"Welcome to paradise," he said, after I told him I was brand new and had just gotten into town.

But he had had enough of this place. "Too many people f*&ked me over here," he said. I believe he was going back to Philly. "Have fun," he said, "just watch yourself. Lot of selfish people here. I've been f*&ked over here more times in the last 5 years than I ever did back in Philly."

And thus concludes my story.

Thank you Mossomo for the hat tip... it's much appreciated. Be sure to come back onto the boards when you get to San Diego and let us know how the reality of your situation compares to what you were told.
