Default Employment opportunities during the summer for students from Europe

Hello

I am a student from Europe and I am trying to come to San Diego this summer. Main condition for obtaining a visa is filled job offer from some company.

I have sent many e-mails but there are few answers and nothing concrete. I tried to contact Seaworld and Zoo but with no luck.

I was wondering can someone recommend me some restaurants, bars, shops, museums or something similar where they will need temporary workers during the summer? It's really hard to find a job for 3 months when I am so far away.

Thank you!

im gonna save you some time - the economy here is beyond terrible. minimum wage jobs have 100s of applicants. there's plenty of people that dont have/get jobs for over a year, im talking about minimum wage jobs. temporary or permanent, doesnt matter.

i dont think you'd get a job here. if u wanan spend your summer in california, u should try other cities.

but wait for more replies, maybe they have something positive to say about this sorry ass piece of **** excuse for an economy

Yeah, I agree that San Diego will probably be tough. I'm not sure if the mountain ski resorts in other cities are all open during the summer. I know some of them are in Colorado (we went to Breckenridge last summer and they had summer activities).

We went to Lake Tahoe a few weeks ago and many of the employees were from Argentina and other foreign countries. I know many resorts typically hire people from other countries but really low wages I'm sure.

Also, try Disneyland and those type of theme parks. I had several friends when I was living abroad and they all were sponsored to come and work for the summer or several months out of the year. So you might want to try them.

A few friends are also planning to visit San Diego during the summer so I hope we will manage to find something. I know that last summer there were many students from Europe in San Diego.

I know that I will be probably working a job with minimum salary but it doesn't matter. I would like to improve my English and learn something new about USA and Americans. I think I'll be able to survive for 3 months.

I still hope someone will contact me. Perhaps even someone from this forum.

If your goal is to focus more on getting exposed to American culture and improve your English and you've got enough money to pay the bills for a few months, do it.

Consider it a semester abroad and if you find a job, great. If not, well, you expect to be spending money during your semester abroad so no problem.
