Default Moving to San Diego soon!

Hi! My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to the San Diego area and were wondering if anyone had any suggestions about places to live and possibly the best places to work. We are both physical therapists and looking to live in a young professional neighborhood with various social opportunities since we are 25 and 28. I was also wondering if anyone had any insights on how much taxes were there. We were thinking about moving down there first and getting temporary housing until we secure jobs, so any advice in that area would be great too.

thanks so much for your help!

Smile San Diego

Hi there! Where you live depends on your style and personality. It all depends too where you are going to work? If you are going to work at Scripps Memorial, Scripps Green, VA Medical, Rady's or UCSD then you might want to live in the LA Jolla, Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley, Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, Poway or Mira Mesa. If you are working at SCripps Hillcrest, NMCSD, Coronado, Kaiser then your options will be Hillcrest, Coronado, NorthPark, Downtown. Alvarado, Grossmont and Sharp hospitals are not too far from Mission Valley, La mesa, Ocean beach, Clairemont Mesa. Personally, I love the Hillcrest/ North park area. I used to live there when I was single, very urban and centralized now I am married with kids so I live in Otay Ranch here in Chula Vista. It's very beautiful down here too just the commute is pretty bad in the morning. JUST remember traffic in the morning is 805N and 5N and rush hour between 3-6pm is 805S and 5S. This is a big consideration you have to consider. Just google those places I mentioned. Each area in SD has their own flavor and culture. It all depends on your lifestyle, your taste and what you are looking for. Good luck!!!

Hi there. I am moving August 1st after waiting 15 years. I had to wait for my kids to be old enough to takeout of the state without my ex-husbands approval. Youngest will be 18 in April. Finally. La Jolla/UTC is a great are. The UCSD medical center is right there and there are many apartments/condos in the area. I have been researching forever so if you have any other questions you can e-mmail me at dwatts@sfr1.com
