In one of your posts you stated that committing suicide is a coward's way out.

No reasonable person believes that except the ones who still believe the pope and that the earth is flat.

I had a friend who committed suicide just a few months ago, I considered that a cowardly act. He left two kids and a wife. He also left a suicide note stating that he wanted everyone to have one last party on him (a kegger he called it).

To label Seau's as the same, eh, it's not that simple. There are many other factors affecting his brain, like his multiple concussions, potential drug use, and many other stuff that we don't know about.

I'm not an expert in psychology or psychiatry, I don't know which applies here. But I think to label all suicides as selfish acts is a little ridiculous. It may be, it may not be, we don't have all the facts and we probably never will.

It's a wise move to think that we never know. Depression is deadly especially when unseen. Sorry about your friend and the ongoing healing process....It can take some time....talking with someone helps.

I heard that the family is now backtracking on letting Seau's brain be examined...they want to consult with their Samoan leaders, I guess to see if this would be accceptable.
