Default Considering My Parents and Nephews Move to Ocean Crest/Ocean View Hills

My parents are looking to move to SoCal and retiring and raising my 2 nephews there. I am considering that we look in SD. I see some pretty nice and good priced homes in what Trulia labels as "Ocean Crest".

Is this a good neighborhood? My bff lives in Scripps Ranch can you compare the 2 neighborhoods? What is the crime like? Good Private or Public Schools nearby? Close to good shopping?

Thanks

Based on some quick research, it looks like you're talking about zip code 92154. Other than it's very close to Mexico, I'm not at all familiar with that area.

Seeing that you are in the Fresno area, I suggest you take a trip down this way and really look around the Ocean Crest area...just to get a better feel of it all. You/ your parents may feel it is a little too isolated from convenience things or that may be just what you are shooting for. As far as schools, that will depend on what neighborhood you are thinking of....some are rated very good and some poor...so that will be a key item to consider. Don't know the specifics, ie: ages of your nephews, price range that you all are considering, etc.. Those will be a big factor. Originally you mentioned Ocean Hills...that area is in Vista/Oceanside and not as far inland....
If you give a few more specifics, I'd be happy to give you more detailed info!
