You might not be up to date on the current state of The City of San Diego and its obligation to its public employee unions?

I wouldn't change the min wage law though I'd probably lower it. If you are in the labor pool that has to compete with illegal alien labor then you are indeed between a rock and a hard place. I'm all for arresting, fining and jailing ANYONE who uses illegal alien labor. And yes, it is still all about your skill set.

Then you're meeting Republicans not Independents. Independents vote on issues and are strong in certain beliefs. They don't see political parties as ways to impede their voting strategies.

I'll never pay a union to represent me. They don't even know me, how could they represent me? I'm pretty good at representing me.
Police and Fire should be the only jobs getting pensions. To think there are tree trimmers and janitors leaving the tax payers on the hook for their pensions

How would you suggest tree trimmers and janitors fund their retirement?

I hope you arent implying that Police and Fire somehow do work that is not on the same playing field as tree trimmers or janitors.
Now you are creating inequality issues of merit and pay based on fixed pension costs paid for by tax dollars. Shame!

As far as retirement plans, the current proposal seems to make sense for SD City incoming new workers and the 401k style funds. Unfortunately its almost impossible to avoid riskwiht investing. What I want to know is, who will be managing those funds and what is available to the employees in being able to utilize them? Will it be something that an employee can access online and pick and choose or will it more like annuity?

Man! you really hate those illegal immigrants! if any corporation hires them, it's usually to do crappy stuff like washing laundry which no one else will do. Immigrants are not the ones that make millions every year like the CEOS.

You are correct about Independents too! I am an Independent. (though I usually vote Democrat) I refuse to vote party lines. There are good politicians and bad on both sides. One party doesn't have all the answers. That's why I like Nathan Fletcher because he echos my thoughts exactly.

For anyone that lives in El Cajon, how did you vote on Prop D? If you voted, were you a registered Repoublican, Dem or other?

El Cajon becoming a charter city will be very interesting in regards to development.
