I'm a huge fan of this cooler summer that's been in San Diego. I'm actually cold in my room right now. In ****in july im cold in my own ****in room, unbelievable .

Anyway I'm curious to know how cool this summer will be. There's usually 3 weeks split up into 2 or 3 with 90+ degree weather. The first week is sposed to be right now. For now next week's forecast is low 80s. Google search just shows that it hasn't been that hot this summer. Anyone got anything more on this?

The long term average summer temps are 72 while lately it's been about 69 so I'd say we've been a whole three degrees lower than normal which isn't much.

It could be a cool summer, but we'll only know later.

Summer heat usually starts late around here. Our hottest month is often September. By then the areas of the U.S. that are roasting now will have cooled off a lot.

It's like June Gloom went overtime. While the rest of the country is getting triple digit temps, we're getting a marine layer that gives us chilly, starless nights.

June has never been known to be a hot month here and I can recall plenty of cool July 4s over the years. As long as it's not like the summer of 2009 if anyone remembers--it never did warm up and we never did see much of the sun, but a whole summar like that is rare here.

OK, I'm ready for some sunshine now...living on the coast it has been so overcast, gloomy and chilly, esp at night. I'd like to be able to keep the windows open for awhile and get some nice warm breezes...course with all the folks back east enduring relentless heat/humidity I really shouldn't be complaining at all. I'm sure they'd all love to come out here for a week or two right about now.

but seems like the last few summers, the hotter weather has been arriving later and later. Aug/Sept/Oct are generally are best months. I read awhile ago that due to cllimate changes, SoCal will eventually have Bay Area type weather (say in 20 years) but I think it is coming to that already. We have to layer our clothes for morning and evening just like they do. I moved here in 1977 and the weather has gotten alot colder over 35 years, ever since Mount St. Helens blew...things changed after that, IMO.

Hey, if we're all getting paid in "sunshine dollars" then, darn it, I want some sunshine!

for those who have just moved here, are you surprised how cool the weather actually is here?

It better not be cool this summer! Can't we just have a normal one?!?
