Default Strange Auto Museum in Santee: Does it still exist??

Many many years back, it might have even been the late 80's, a friend took me to an auto museum in Santee, and if I recall correctly, it was somewhere off of Magnolia. This museum had movie prop cars from some Mad Max type movies, and it had the original white bubble car from Woody Allen's movie Sleeper. If I recall correctly, it even had one of the motorcycles from the movie THX1138.

The place was just a low rent building and all the props were jammed close together as if you were in a junkyard -- well maybe not THAT bad, but it was still pretty crammed in.

I've tried since to find a website that mentions this museum and I've found none. Does anybody remember this place??

What's the story on this place, and who owned it? Did they move?

I've never heard of it though maybe someone who lives in Santee might know better. That said, I've lived in this area most of my life.

Interesting. I've never heard of this museum. I was born here in SD 21 years ago and I never remember anything like that.

I was born in the mid 1970's and can remember lots of weekend trips with my parents and their friends out to Santee lakes or hiking by the San Diego river but nothing about an auto museum in Santee. Santee lakes was a nice place for parents to get together with their friends who also had kids, the adults would drink beer and socialize while the kids got to run around playing or go fishing in the various lakes. It was all a controlled and safe environment perfect for families.
