One of my daughters who is a very intelligent and perceptive young woman, called me up this morning and asked me to pull a picture of James Holmes and evaluate the image. I took a look- What I saw was pitiful. This wide eyed sleep deprived kid - who was coming to the realization that life is not a movie...an empty looking creature in a state of half contained panic- This whole matter is absolutely tragic from all points of view.
Dear God - I thought. .....This thing- this empty young man void of a past life- void of a future...is the product of a sick society...It will not be just James Holmes on trail here- Sadly it will be all of America for the generation of a lost generation - that can not define the difference between reality and fantasy. I am not showing empathy or sympathy for this crazed killer- Just great sadness for those seeking retribution who will learn NOTHING from this tragic event. It will be business as usual once Holmes is gone...and it will happen again...and people will not ever figure out why-
They will point to mental illness- to "meds" - I would like to know what insidious pharma product was this kid on if any...That might be the first question?
People are saying some sort of mental illness like Schizophrenia. But he was planning this for months and with something like Schizophrenia it is like a random act of violence as an effect of being untreated. This guy was very smart. I mean Neuroscience is not something an average person could understand. I know I couldn't begin to understand. He had no criminal record. I also wonder where he got all the money to buy all the weapons and ammo. People are saying that this is typical of loner types but reports say he wasnt a loner in school. I myself am kind of a loner but I would never do something evil like this so just because someone doesnt have a ton of friends doesn't mean they are a crazy killer. The psychology of the mind is so interesting.
I really wish people would leave his parents alone.
I know they feel bad about all of this,why keep putting a microphone in their face?
And what's up with all of the neighbors on T.V.?

I know, the media just won't leave them alone. I know it's their job to get breaking news and what not but what point is it considered harassment? If Holmes hadn't moved to Colorado it makes me wonder if it would have happened here instead.
He is not bright and intelligent- The young man has a mechanical memory and remembers details. There is a difference- I do not creative or emotion intelligence..I see a spoiled kid who's liberal parents told him how "special' he was...He must have discovered that he was a robotic nerd and not that special- Also I see an inferiority complex and a shyness that is caused by his own self image...This earlier picture show the same thing as the court photo....He is wearing out of date side burns in both images...In an attempt to make his ears less pronounced...He thinks his ears make him look homely and possibly evil.
The video did not play well at my end- the images were a series of jerky stills---I did notice when he turned to the young woman - there was a small flash of fear on her face...then a nervous laugh. Just because a person has a good memory and can rattle off facts and figures does not make them intelligent- Nothing worse that running with that fantasy..."the evil genius" Cos there is no such thing.
What I see here is some poor breeding- I would like to see what his mother and father look like...When two genetically evil people breed for the wrong reasons- sometimes you get a little demon as an offspring. Not to sound mystic- but the guy MIGHT be a little devil as they say...I am sure that he was probably burned out to a degree with the meth like substance - Ritalin.
I feel sorry for this freak....his history is one of modern child rearing that included drugs- I guarantee you- That is my layman's opinion and evaluation from the visual.
In a few years you may see more of these little monsters that were oh so special - in the alternative....I could be wrong....If it looks like a duck it is...................He looks like that nasty hyperactive little boy who's parents were foolish enough to listen to the doctor.

um....your earlier post in this thread, I agreed with and understood what you were saying but this post is just ridiculous. I am not by any means defending this guy but I don't think attacking the parents and assuming things about them is appropriate. Why does it matter if they were liberal or conservative? Democrat or Republican? Independent or Green? Once someone turns 18, they are considered an adult which means their parents can not really control them any longer. This guy was 24 and made HIS OWN decisions. I don't think killing 12 people and injuring 50-60 others was his mom or dad's fault. If your child moves out of the state, how do you know they aren't in a gang or doing drugs? You just assume they are good kids. If my seemingly good, smart son shot up a crowd of people, I would be angry, mad, sad, shocked, and every emotion in the World. They probably feel worse enough as it is.
It's a bit early to start laying blame on the parents isn't it? We have no information, though what the media shows is that while an introvert, he did function well enough in society to excel in college. We also don't know if it was a random selfish act, some bizarre political statement, or due to a psychological cause? He is at the age schizophrenia manifests, after all. I think it would be wiser to save the speculations and wait for actual evidence to show up.
I understand that people are in shock and mourning but attacking the parents the way you did is just not appropriate.
