Default Is living in Encinitas bad idea for single 26 years old?

Hello,

one of my family members needs to move to Europe for a while and for that time he wants to rent his house in Encinitas. Obviously he would rather rent it to family member so he gave me very fair rental price. I am at Chicago right now but have been looking for a move to SD for ages. I have been there few times and loved it but I was mainly around NorthPark, La Jolla and Paficic Beach area so I do not have enough experience with Northern San Diego.

What I am looking for is:

nice beach community, friendly people, place where I could meet nice down to earth women (this is really important for me as I hate spoiled, materialistic women) restaurants, shopping, cool downtown, no 24/7 party central but also no ghost town. So more like something between. I work for myself on PC.

Do you think Encinitas would be good choice? As I said rent offer is really low so I am seriously considering it. Thanks a lot

You pretty much described Encinitas here. Learn how to surf and you'll be set.

Encinitas is a great beach community. A little removed from downtown but that's part of its charm.

There are lots of spoiled, materialistic women everywhere. The good ones are not confined to just one specific area, you need to get realistic or just gain more life experiences before you limit yourself.

Otherwise, go to Match.com and move near the girl you like the best. (shrugs)

I'd say you've found your sweet spot in Encinitas. And from what I've seen, you are more likely to find a naturally pretty, healthnut, yoga-type woman in ENC, instead of the more plastic, done up, competitive gal in neighboring Del Mar, Carmel Valley, RSF and even areas of Carlsbad. Sorry to generalize, but am I wrong here?
