Hi all, we are thinking of a beach vacation with our 2 yo so maybe you could help me find the perfect place
1) walking distance to a nice kid friendly beach and supermarket
2) the place should have a kitchen
3) relatively easy public transportation access to major attractions is highly preferable
4) not too long a drive from the airport would also be good

Which areas do I consider? do I look to rent a condo or are there hotels with kitchenettes?
We are planning to mostly hang out on the beach but will make 2-3 trips to places like the zoo, legoland, sea world...would prefer not to drive though!
TIA!

Book quickly. Summer rentals are quite hard to come by unless you want to spend $2500 a week at this point.

We used to put family and friends up at the Diamond Head Inn in Pacific Beach in the 1990s. Small and not very ritzy, but cozy, with a kitchenette, and right on the beach. Give them a try:
