We have had threads on the different San Diego television news channels and the awful biased newspaper, but how do you feel about the local radio stations? Which are your favorite channels? Which stations do you try to avoid? What could San Diego radio stations do better?

I like 94.9, 91X, and KPRI. I'll listen to Jack, KGB, and the Walrus when those stations all have ads on. And then there's always 88.3 for jazz and KPBS for news and information.

Disappointed in how 94.9 has been doing. I know that Swami leaving was his own decision -- as sad as that was, I'll respect his decision -- but did they have to cut Big Sonic Chill?

A lot of SD radio has just started to blend together to me. Even Jazz 88.3, for which I used to know most of the weekly schedule by heart, only has a couple of shows that I'll listen to now. However, those have also changed times over the past couple of years, so my schedule doesn't always allow me to stay up or tune in now. (I'm ashamed to admit that for yet the umpteenth week in a row, I've forgotten that Rugcutter's Swing was moved to Sundays. For some reason that schedule change never stuck in my mind. I miss the solid Saturday morning block of big band and swing!)

I bounce from 105.3 to 92.5 to 91.x. Once in a while I'll listen to Country or even the voice of Merl or whatever that funny dude is.

I tend to avoid the local talk radio channels because I will start fuming at the sound of Rush Limbaugh or anyone of his ilk's voice. I do like KPBS though. I find that it is actually unbiased and they give you both sides. I am more of a music guy though and don't listen to news radio very much.

As far as music, I like 97.3, 105.7, 103.7, 94.1, and 101.5.

KPRI is good, 91X is alright. Jack is fine in small doses.

What used to be SD's best two stations in my opinion, FM94.9 and Smooth Jazz 98.1, have both fallen all the way to the bottom of the barrel in the past year. They're not even listenable anymore. It's tragic.

I like Pandora but you can't listen in the car. I Heart Radio is not bad either.
