I live in a live-work loft. Some of the people in my apartment are artists and I think there was one that was making furniture. Cement floors and >12' ceilings. Within downtown may be difficult, but there's a lot of live-work lofts in the outskirts of town, if you can live with your half-built furnitures.

just curious...have you checked this company out really well. Nothing personal, but why do they need to hire someone from Houston when there are thousands of people right in SD that are available for work, unless you have a very unique skillset...and anytime I hear that they want somebody "quick", that sends up a red flag for me.

And forget about Barrio Logan....if you are going to work in Chula Vista, then i would say live in CV, there are lots of houses for rent there but you have to be careful of the neighborhoods. That's why you really need to be here to see for yourself.
