Its amazing to here about this temp difference when you only talking about maybe 10 miles or so!
Keep an open mind when you visit. I lived in Orlando for a year and from the east coast. The temps difference looks worse on paper than in reality. While you do feel it, its not nearly as drastic as 10 a degree difference in the south with high humidity.

There are 'some' days when its more noticeable than others out here, but with the exception of this past summer, we dont usually get more than 4 or 5 days of Santa Ana conditions where its dry and hot at its worst.
I personally love the slightly drier heat inland vs coastal, but really, that is being nitpicky.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is like summer in the southeast or Texas where a 10 degree difference between 80s and 90s are far more noticeable.

Tx for the input. We should make sure we spend some time looking at Poway too. I bet there is a house cost difference which is I guess something to at least consider.

Funny you should mention this. I just got back from 2 weeks in South Florida and while the air temps didn't bother me (upper 80's), the difference in dewpoints were apparent. When I left SD, dewpoints were in the mid 60's (humid to us) . The entire time I was in FLA, it was mostly in the mid 70's. I was surprised at how much the 10 degree difference made when to came to being uncomfortable. I recall it dropping to 69 and thinking it felt like SD weather.
