Some cities like Dallas have gotten rid of many of their manned toll booths and just go with the camera/mail system. Although I'm not sure how often they send them out there either. I was always curious about that.
We got our " bill" about a month later, but have no idea how often they are sent out.

Are you asking about driving without a transponder and getting a statement or getting a ticket/bill without? I agree it would be awfully pricey to send out tickets for such a small amount for repeat offenders or one timers.

I have a transponder as we travel the 15 quite a bit to go up to Murrieta or our clients offices in RB. Its kind of like any other prepay system where you can replenish for a variable amount monthly or a fixed amount monthly using a bank account or credit card.

I'm talking about people that do NOT have any transponder and only driving in that fast track lane. I know more and more cities are moving to the non-manned type tollbooths with the camera and ticket technology. But I've since heard from some friends in Dallas that get bills for only less than $2. I can't see how this can be too cost effective with postage.

Someone above mentioned getting a bill for $2.80 so it sounds like here they are ticketing people for small amounts. I was just curious at what minimum amount they set before sending out a bill.

I'm really surprised that you were camera-fined on the I-15 lanes. I don't believe cameras exist anywhere on the route and think that enforcement is still done manually by the CHP. I drove for almost 5 years solo under the now-defunct yellow hybrid sticker program, and with lots of Volts and Leafs out now with the white stickers, it'd be a nightmare trying to enforce solo drivers without FasTrak transmitters but with stickers, or with a baby in the backseat, etc.

Also I thought MetroExpressLanes was for the LA area only.
