Wich Wich (Carmel Valley)
Wired Bistro (UTC)
Star Anise Thai (UTC)
Seasons 52 (UTC mall)

In RP, the Mi Ranchitos behind McDonalds on RP boulevard at I-15. Significantly better than all other Mi Ranchitos'.
In CMR, Habit Burger.
In Kearny Mesa: Lit'l Pepper Deli.
North Park: Crazee Burger
Downtown Fish Joint
Hidden gem: Miramar Cafe, 7128 Miramar Rd. A huge step above the usual industrial area cafe.

I used to like Pei Wei in 4S Ranch, until I looked up how much fat and salt there is in their food!

Oh - and how could I forget! Nessie Burgers rocks my world!
That's a shame. You really need to give d'carlos another shot. I like Ramona Cafe. Great breakfast place.

Ooh awesome Kearny Mesa Mexican place I forgot to list
Casa machado. It's on the 2nd floor of building at Montgomery Field.
And well I'm at it, Hacienda on Johnson in El Cajon is pretty good too.

Did I see someone say Panda Inn? Come on now. You want cheap Chinese that's real Chinese, go one block over and go to China Two. It's a dump but it's cheap and good.

And if you want a good burger, go to Burger Lounge or Smashburger.

You can also get quick and cheap Mexican at Valentine's.

Although for the sake of accuracy, Coops is in my hood (Lemon Grove, technically east county) and just opened a new spot in Chula Vista.

If you are through this area, I suggest trying Sabor. They have the BEST taquitos that I have had in the area as well as fish tacos. The place is packed to the gills right after work. Total hole in the wall kind of place
Sabor - Lemon Grove - Lemon Grove, CA

Another staple is Lidos. I am 'meh' about it, but has been there forever and again that place is swamped almost every night. Very good prices and a lot of food for the money.

We like Swami's for lunch or breakfast in La Mesa Village as well.

OK, so Lemon Grove is East County. Wasn't always sure what they claimed. Actually that could be a whole other thread, as to what people consider the lines of demarcation for south bay, east county, north county..etc.
