We just found a house we really like, but I am a little concerned about the area. How safe is the college ave/estelle st area? The house is right in that corner.

It's in Rolando. There are a couple of people on this forum that live in Rolando that can give you details about the area.

Busy block, a lot of rehabbed homes on that street lately, mostly families and a few renter houses but overall ok. Gets a fair amount of traffic because it is a feeder street. Unless you are a part time drug dealer I wouldnt fear for your safety. But it's pretty close to a major street so you get the typical urban issues like traffic and litter and noisy cars, etc. most of the neighbors are decent people, a few trashy ones too. Dm me if you have specific questions.
