Encouraging! Been praying for 2 years about making the move and when. My reasons are to be close to my youngest son. He said there is no way he's moving back to PA. That leaves me with the "tough" decision of moving to sunny, beautiful San Diego... I have visited often and love it. I was raised in Hawaii and have never gotten use to winters... With that said, the doors are opening for 2014! Like you posted, it's a gut feeling that won't go away!! Looking forward to being a family together on one coast....

Muggy as usual. We've had some cool days though.

I love that! Really like when I see snow off in the distance on the mountain tops while I'm wearing non winter attire. One of my favorite things about SoCal.

A little useful tip for staying cool during the night is get window box fans and have them blow outward (using as an exhaust fan) instead of inward.

Something like this one from Home Depot: Lasko 20 in. 3-Speed Box Fan-3733 at The Home Depot

Then just open the other windows that don't have fans, and fresh cool air will be drawn into these windows, and the hot air from these rooms will be blown out where ever the exhaust fans are located.

Using this approach, I can cool the inside of my bedroom down to the outside temperature without even having a fan in my bedroom, so I hear no fan noise when I sleep.

My exhaust fan is located in my kitchen window, and as soon as I turn it on, I can feel cool air being drawn into all the other open windows throughout my home.

There has been a bit of humidity lately. I understand this is a late summer rain storm with most of the actual rain falling in the mountains and the deserts but I still don't like the humidity. My one consultation is that we're almost into September and this is the first part of the summer season where I have felt is too muggy yet the temperature has still been very reasonable compared to the rest of the country.

It has been very pleasant at night here. My window and doors have been open every night with no running of the AC or heater. Do you live further inland or something?
