Just pointing out, from Rancho Bernardo, you almost certainly won't be using the 56 to bike to work. You'll be riding in the bike lanes on shared roads like Carmel Valley Road and Camino Del Sur. It is not as safe as it would be if you were in the dedicated bike lane on the 56.

I am moving to San Diego from San Jose. My work location address is 7535 Torrey Santa Fe Road San Diego, CA 92129.

I was wondering if you can suggest an apartment/condo for rent near that area. Here is my criteria:

1. I am planning to take public transport (if possible)
2. If I live with 10 miles of work, it'd be great
3. We are only 2 people living (my wife and myself)
4. We are outdoor people
5. Prefer a bike friendly area (If possible), I'd like to bike to work as often as I can
6. Safe, clean and well educated neighborhood
7. Willing to pay about $1000 + utilities per month
8. We both like a residential neighborhood where it is silent and peaceful
9. Closer to freeways (If possible)

I don't know if these criteria are too many. But if you can suggest something, it'd be great. I am not in a big hurry to move but I'd like to make sure I don't end up in a dump.

Thanks.

If you live out in del mar heights, it'll be a pain to ride a bike to your job. Not to mention it'll take almost an hour to get there.
If you really want to bike to/from work as others stated, find a place closer to your job, it'll be far easier.

I used to bike to/from work up in Silicon Valley and it was about a 60 minute ride each way. There were cool bike paths I could take next to the 101, but there were also certain points where I had to cross and it became "oh crap these people dont give a crap about bikers." Anyway, it was great to be in tip top shape from the 20 miles or so I rode a bike each day, but after awhile it just got old knowing I had an hour long bike ride at 10pm.
