Arthur Avenue in the Bronx has great old school Italian restaurants; however, I still argue the best pizza is in Brooklyn and on Long Island.

I am a big fan of bread, so ultra-thin crust just bores me. I wouldn't say I am a fan of deep dish either. By deep dish, I mean the TRUE CHicago-style deep dish that has 2 pounds of sauce per slice. But I like a thicker crust for sure. Something close to Pizza Huts pan pizza.
Ok, I live close enough to D'Angelo's to try it again

Pizza Hut? Are those even still around?

I just stick to the thin and crispy crust from Lefty's.

Did you make it to Giordano's? Another example of overhype.

Now, if you are ever in the mood for a burger in Mahattan (for the flavor of the meat, by itself) you owe it to yourself to check out NoMad Bar or Minetta Tavern (need to call a month in advance for a reservation here).
Hoping to get back to NYC later this summer so I will check out Paulie Gee's and Di Fara. Momofuku was another one that didn't live up to it's hype. Santouka in Kearny Mesa is just as good.

Check out Mia Francesca in Del Mar. A spawn of the Chicago store which has the best thin crust pizza I've ever had.

No. I will try Burt's Place on next visit to chicagoland, since Anthony Bourdain tried it and looked good.
On a related note, Rick Bayliss's version of Mex food is quite good there including a place at the airport.
