Default Please help me find a summer job!

Hi guys,

I'm a UK university student and am looking to work in San Diego (or any part of California) from June to September. I'm prepared to do any type of work, perhaps preferably working in a large fast-food chain like McDonalds.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone can offer any help on finding a job. (I'm going to be doing this placement through a company which will take care of visas...etc...)

Thanks for your time.

Hi,
You don't need our help to find a job at McDonalds!
Try the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. I had a lot of fun working there.

Or even the zoo which is down the street!

Good luck!

This is a good way to find temporary work IF your student visa allows you to work legally. When I was in college I dated an English exchange student and her student visa didn't allow her to work legally so she had to work "under the table" as a waitress at a local restaurant. You won't find work like that advertised so unless someone here PM's you a deal the best way to find that kind of work is to apply in person when you get here. The small mom & pop places are more likely to bend the rules for the right person then the large corporate chains.

There are jobs out there but the economy is weak right now so you basically have to hussle and apply to a bunch of different places before you'll get a bite. If you can work legally on your visa then try online resources like Monster.com, signonsandiego.com (that's the local newspaper's website), craig's list, and careerbuilder.com.
