My monthly expenses are none but Utilities, food I own my car and I don't use credit cards so I don't have any debt. Tuition for out of state students are less than what a we pay for nursing as resident students in STL. 7th street at Calla was a location someone suggested also 1042 15th at ELDER, 635 Emory Street #4, 805 10TH ST - I
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA 91932...I'm not looking for anything fancy right now like I said before fairly close to the beach it does not have to be just Imperial beach as long as I am close to southwestern College and within that price range and I don't have to worry about drive byes. I live in Saint Louis, The murder capitol of the country so I know what dangerous areas are. I am trying to go no higher than $1050 a month. That is the budget I want to keep to live comfortable so I can focus on school. I live a simple life.

Where did you move to after city heights what rent amount are you paying...Whats the average to expect to pay for a nice place. I dont need luxury just a simple safe clean home. St.louis is the same 5 miles west of me homes are 1-2 million. 5 miles east its pure slum the it is a average night of 12 murders per night, gangs, break ins. Even the cops are harassed. So it is a toss up.

I don't know anything about IB, but I think there's someone on the forum that lives there that can give you information on the areas. I do know that some of the areas aren't very good.

El Cajon, maybe? It's different when you have kids, the neighborhood should be better.

There's a difference between a better neighborhood and "anywhere".

La Mesa has 2 bedroom apartments under $1000. So does IB, the OP's preferred area.

OP, I don't know Imperial Beach well enough to comment on the addresses you suggested. Hopefully some here knows the area better.

But for a start, you can look here to see if there seems to be a problem: CrimeMapping.com - National Map
