Does anyone have a certain place they go to to get cheap tires for your car? I need 2 new tires, and cant spend alot right now. I found some cheaper ones at walmart, but looking for other suggestions.

Thanks!

There are a few tire places that sell used tires. One is off Linda Vista road. Sometimes you can find trade ins, like new, for cheap. I buy certain specialty tires that way and it's wayyyyyyy cheaper than new.

The downside is no warranty but I've never used a warranty on new tires.

There are some shops around town.

Are you looking for new or used? For me personally, tires are not something I would want to mess with used, especially if you dont know anything about tires. Even if you did, there are just way too many unknowns about who had them before or any potential internal damage not seen from the outside.
I am sure there are plenty of people that have bought used and never had an issue. Just know before you go.

As far as tire shoppes:
Discount Tire
Express Tire
Costco as mentioned

Then other local tires shops all over the county. If you know the tire you want, then start from there and start pricing them out. Just use google or bing to do a search.

Costco's tires aren't exactly cheap. If you really want cheap, there are lots of used tires places around. I just did a Yelp search, and there are quite a few, and some not too far from you.

I knew someone would say Costco! That's the number one answer on this forum. hahahaah, that and the Poway School district response.

My new family truck will only get new tires from Evans Tire Co. But for my 1998 beater Ford Ranger that was at one time my primary vehicle as a single man, I've been buying used tires from the places up and down El Cajon Blvd and University Ave in City Heights and North Park since about 2006. The one I would go to most of the time was Edies on University Ave in City Heights. You can get a good used tire that will last about a year for bout $30-$45 dollars and the price may be negotiable, others have told me that if they see you as a clean cut guy from the suburbs, they will try charge you $60 dollars for a tire that would cost a “local” $35 dollars. If they do this, just threaten to go else where or that "the guy down the street sells them for ___$$$"

This is not the only used tire shop in the area as I have used others when Edies is out of 15’s, they are all up and down the two streets on each side of the 15 Freeway.

Hernandez Tire Sales in Chula Vista on Main Street. They are very affordable and the customer service is great!

It was about 25 years ago, but I think I bought some used tires from Tire Depot on Adams too. Normal Heights, correct? Cheaper than new, but I don't remember what I paid back then.

Tire Depot doesn't sell used tires. I bought of set of Michelins at Costco a few years ago, and when I needed to replace one, they didn't carry the size I needed, but I bought another from Tire Depot, but it wasn't a Michelin.
