Long happy life.

Remembered by Padre fans.

Memorialized at Petco Park for his military and baseball contributions.

I watched a lot of games where Jerry was the announcer. RIP Jerry.

I was born and raised in San Diego. I'm not a huge baseball fan and I'm probably too young to know who he is. I'm 23.

It didn't make National headlines and I'm not following mlb news off season so I missed it. But I remember Jerry well from my younger days, esp. in 1984 when he broadcast the padre squad of Tony Gwynn, Steve Garvey, Kevin McReynolds, etc. (including a young Bruce Bochy who was a backup catcher) through the World Series (defeated by the Tiger unfortunately). Thanks for letting us know of his passing. Warmest regards to his friends & family.

All right. You get a pass as you weren't old enough to remember the 80's when he was announcing every Padres game.
