Default What's the juice on Valley Center?

Thinking of re-locating from many years in Mexico back to California. I have heard that Valley Center has cheaper prices, decent schools and you can actually get a little space between you and your neighbors. What's the little town like and do you have to drive to Escondido every time you need a gallon of milk?

My grandparents lived out there. There's not much in VC but you can some get basics like milk at one of the liquor stores stores there. You'd need to go to Escondido to hit a real supermarket. They lived on Yellow Brick Rd. (no joke) and there were probably 3 lots on a 1/4 stretch of it so yeah, there's some space between houses. But there's some higher density stuff that's been built in the last decade or so.

Default woods valley

I guess the high-density is Woods Valley Golf Club. Looks good, but there are tons for sale in the development. Wonder why? Were the San Diego fires near that area?

I don't know about the most recent fires, but the ones in 2003(?) burned my aunt's old house. She lived 1/4 up the hill from my grandparents' old house. I guess it was the only house in the immediate area to burn.

acutally no you dont. take it from experience, i live here. You don't HAVE to drive to escondido to get a gallon of milk. but the space between your neighbors is amazing!!!! it can vary between 20ft to maybe a mile!!!!! i love it here in VC!!!!! well except for all th casino traffic but overall VC is an awesome place to live.

That has everything to do with the housing market more than anything. We camp out in that area a lot.

because most of the people who bought in that development did so at the height of the market, and like everyone else who bought in 2005- 2006, they're upside down and their jobs are being cut back. It's simple economics. It's a beautiful development on a golf course in a wonderful community.

There are other developments in VC which were built earlier, and they have less for sale because fewer people bought at the height of the market.

There are some spectacular deals on large lots - with a little bit older, smaller homes..........or gorgeous newer homes on smaller lots - depends on what you want. Valley Center is ten miles square, so there's lots of choice.
