We finally decided on a house and my kid is going to Earl Warren middle. It's a 20 min drive without traffic from Rancho Santa Fe. Ugh. He's interested in the Surf PE class. Anyone know about that? I'm trying to figure out how we're going to get kids picked up all over the place.

I didn't take it at EW but I did many years ago at Torrey Pines HS. I'm sure it hasn't changed. The kids surf before school and that's their PE. I'm sure the school can clue you in on details better than I can, but that's the basics.

Warren is about to undergo a major renovation, including some demolition and new construction. I think they might be starting next year. I have heard the original plan was to do the project in two phases so they could keep students on site during construction instead of shipping them out to other schools. Should be really nice when it's done, the existing school is pretty old. Can't help you with the surf PE thing, but the school can probably tell you exactly what the deal is.
