Default City Heights?

I'm planning to possibly move out to San Diego and i'm on Craig's List looking for rentals. I've visited a few times and I like mission valley but 1800.00 bucks for a 1/1 is a little nutty.

Can you guys let me know if City Heights close to El Cajon Blvd and University is somewhere safe and clean? Keep in mind we're in our late 20's and no kids...

You don't need to live in Mission Valley for a safe area, but I wouldn't live in City Heights proper for any reason. Rule of thumb is to stay west of 805 or north of Adams, alternatively stay east of 54th.
