Is there anything the neighbor can do other than ***** about it if I put up the fence along my property line?

I was totally cool with the fence part and paying for half of that. The part that I was "on the fence" (get it, on the fence ) was about was paying half of the retaining wall. The wall is entirely on their property and only they have access to it, it just keeps mine from sliding down into his. This was the part that took some convincing and negotiating being that I don't ever see the wall.

But if my trees fall into his property and damage his things, I am liable so I see the neighbors point of view.

In the end, we came to an agreement that suited us both.

Alpine Fence will actually pull county surveyor records to make sure they are not putting up a fence on someone else property.

I am sure your neigbors would like a say in the type of fence that goes up.... they have to look at it too. Approach them about putting up a fence, what kind they would like, and about paying half. The worst they could say is no.

That's pretty cool that that Alpine does the legwork on that type of thing. Next time I see my neighbor, I'll introduce myself to him and bring up the fence thing. Not sure if that would happen too fast or not...."hey nice to meet you, how about putting up a fence between our houses?"

Do you think a Vinyl privacy fence would cost more than a wood privacy fence?

Go through the directory of San Diego. You can find various good rating fencing contractors in your area. Still if you are not able to find it, PM me, I will help you for sure
