Yes, a 2 bedroom house or town home in the city of San Diego is possible for $1500. You don't specify where you are commuting to though.

It is difficult enough to get a job with only a BA in Business Admin obtained in the US, I think your experience will help you more than your degree.

Good luck with your move.

You could also search non-military procurement and logistics jobs and look for forums and bloggers writing about this field, to find out if there are certain cities in the US that have better options than others.

SD does have a large military industry here as far as jobs, but it's not solely relegated to this. There's lots of competition for the lower skilled jobs you mentioned, but the up side is that such jobs do exist in fairly large numbers and consistently here in SD county. Jobs are located throughout the county and commuting will depend on where your job is. $1500 is more likely to get you a condo or townhome than a SFH. Smaller, older homes in the urban areas of SD might be possible with that budget. But condos or apartments are more likely.

You could also research the benefits of any non-English language skills that you may have, as a potential bonus for making your resume stand out and/or opening up more job opportunities.

OP, you may need to look at fulfilling a role here at a professional staffing agency such as Manpower.

A very good friend of mine was out of work for two years and was in logistics/supply chain for a big cell phone manufacturer that ran its ops here in San Diego. He was hired by Qualcomm via the staffing agency.

Companies like Manpower have a gold mine business here in San Diego. Companies, getting professional services without the overhead costs of hiring. Its a fine line, but knowing that people are always moving to SD, they can fill these spots very easily.
