I've recently been looking into tiny homes (some mobile and anywhere between 200-600 sq ft). This seems to be a thing in Oregon but not sure if there is much going on in San Diego. I would love to build my own tiny home and either buy land or rent land to park it on. Any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

Exceedingly few remote areas even allow manufactured homes on land much less those. I imagine the same rules apply. Perhaps in Jamul or beyond.

I'm a fan of these tiny homes. Also co-housing. Neither has taken root in SD.
I'm not a fan of the newish planned, developed communities prevalent in east part of north county.

You can rotate around in campgrounds and many will allow you to have extended stays. This can be quite cheap depending on where you stay. You can camp on BLM land for free any time of year but you need to be self-sustained with a gen set and an ac unit with enough fuel to run it.
