Yea that's what I meant by walking south near the trolley station. The City College Trolley stop, even though they reinvented the area with Starbucks will always have a homeless/bum problem. There are so many camera's, police, and college Students that you would be a fool to commit a crime near there.

Again thanks for all the responses people.

Hows the music scene there? I know its no seattle but I am still hoping for a decent music scene as it is a big city.

Best clubs? Best spots to meet new people (single/20s/fun)?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to find a job in Biotech here in SD, make sure you have a good LinkedIn profile and join as many SD biotech groups you can. That's how our intern found us and then found the other job opportunities. Hey, you may even consider interning just to get your foot in the door!

North Park is great and for your budget you'll have no problem. Normal Heights is nice too. You could get a 2 bedroom apartment with parking for around $1900.

However, in OB or PB, you'll meet more people your age.

Thanks alot mandasand. Really invaluable advice that I won't ignore. I'll keep an eye out for good apts in all three neighborhoods.. just wanted to get a loose order of preference. I know it is smart to know as much as I can before I get there... I also know that I won't really be sure which place will feel "right" until I actually get there and walk around. Very excited to get started on this new part of my life. Thanks for all the helpful responses.
