So I was just back down in San Diego a week ago. It seems like North San Diego County is more beautiful, has alot more open space!

What is your favorite?

North San Diego County - Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encintas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Cardiff, La Jolla

or

South San Diego County

San Diego County is fairly large. You have only listed a few beach communities. I don't think of La Jolla as north county. It's pretty central to the coastal area. Climate is more cool and moderate at the coast than inland. The most rural open areas tend to be in east county both north and south. As to beauty, that is in the eye of the beholder. I like the hilly topography that is common in much of San Diego County. Some only want to see ocean views. People divide up the county in different ways. Some like to divide it between north of frwy 8 and south of frwy 8. Others talk about west of 1-5 and east of I-5. We have mountains, desert, beaches and everything in between in San Diego County. Some parts are pricier than others. Some have older home charm. Some have modern neighborhood clean and neat looks. I like a lot of different areas of the county. All of the neighborhoods you listed are coastal ranging from La Jolla as the southernmost of the group to Oceanside as the northernmost. If money was not an object and I was told I could pick either La Jolla or Oceanside, I would pick La Jolla. That said, it is not a place I go to, not one of my favs. I tend to hang out down in the city in urban areas with what I think of as a cool factor, older homes, non-chain restaurants, reasonable prices.

Oh yes...me too...especially around the Clairemont Mesa / University City area.

I picked undecided, because this poll is kinda pointless. You gain no useful data or information from the results. Also, it's wrong: La Jolla most certainly is in the city proper. Not "north county."

This reminds of the North OC vs. South OC thread. That. Will. Not. Die. No. Matter. What.

A. You do realize that the majority of people in North County do NOT live in a coastal city/neighborhood, right?

B. La Jolla definitely is not part of "North County". It's way to close to the city center and is a very established part of the City of San Diego.

C. What is the point of this?

North of what? South of what? What's the demarcation point?

North County Inland, North County Coastal, South Bay, East County (south of North County), South of the 8??

This is too general of a discussion.
