Have been looking around online at various real estate sites, don't see any open houses for that day (lots listed for the weekend, but I won't be around). Seems that it would be a good day to get people shopping for homes, since it's a big shopping day anyway, and many people don't have to work. Any ideas of where to find info? Or am I the only person who would think it's a good day for that sort of thing? Not ready to take the plunge just yet so won't tie up an agent. Mostly interested in North County, but open to farther south also.

go to the "real estate for sale" section on craigslist under "housing" and do a search for ads that have "open house" in the titles only.

Black Friday, day after thanksgiving.
No one will be in town except for people in the malls.

www.consumer.sandicor.com........it's the public access version of the MLS....open house dates and times along with property searches are listed there. Don't think many agents are holding open houses on Friday but give it a shot! Good luck to you!
