9 cents? In my town, it went up 20 cents, Monday!! I don't understand these wild swings in price. So, why is it going up?

Refinery strikes are probably to blame. I noticed around my area it went up like $.25 within a few days.

I filled up at a USA Gas station in El Cajon Tuesday night for 2.32(Cheapest gas on gas Buddy)
looks like prices maybe creeping back down, at lease in the East County. I know some of the Major's gas prices are still out of control.

Edit:
Why are Valero's gas station prices always so damn high.

Oil is heading back down today, so it may level off.

Gasbuddy is a great phone app that tells you where the nearest gas station is along with the price. It always seems to be accurate.

It also tell s you what the average price is for cities across the nation. For many years, SD had the most expensive gas in the nation. Currently, we're only 6th highest......Still nothing to brag about. Can't believe places exist where gas is less than $2!

The current price spike isn't about the crude price, it's about possible bottlenecks in the flow of refined gasoline due to the strikes.
