I'm looking to buy/build a small home - 200-400SF, potentially on wheels. But the biggest roadblock I'm running into is finding land to put the house on.

I'd like to stay near the coast in north country -- oceanside, carlsbad, encinitas, leucadia area...

But it's logistics i'm getting caught up on - what parks are available to park in that are reasonably priced?

what have other tiny home owners done?

I'm not aware of any tiny homes in San Diego County. I think you'll run into problems with the permitting process, in areas close to the coast or even close to the city close to the coast. I'm guessing you'd need to go far into east county before building regulations won't interfere.

OP you asked "what parks ...?", right? Meaning you are looking to put a tiny home on wheels in a mobile home park?

I'm going back and forth between just going RV style for now or tiny home on wheels. Ideally, I'd rather buy land, but if that's a longer term dream, then i would do and mobile home park

This has been discussed time and again, same ending. Land is too expensive here, rules are too obstructive.

It looks like there are also tiny houses in San Marcos and Carlsbad. This site has listings:

Sale & California - Tiny House Listings

I don't know if the land is also included, or if the homes are just being sold for transfer to a different location.

NO, I DON't believe the land is included. As in Fallbrook....land, at least in our neighborhood, must be a min. Of 3 acre parcels. Not inexpensive, if you can find an empty lot.
