You would of thought that they would book Qualcomm.
I herd it was a mess getting in and out of their last night.

Maybe next time. When anything is going on at Petco, it's a big mess in general. Parking is virtually impossible, the trolleys are packed with people, you can't move once your on a car, and lots people end up parking at Qualcomm, and taking the trolley from there. It would be easier if it was held at Qualcomm. More parking for people, plus lots of room for the busses and semis to park.

The first time the One Direction concert was held here it was at Viejas Arena, and it wasn't large enough. I guess the producers got the message and held it at Qualcomm this time, where there's plenty of room.

After watching some of the shows on the 10th anniv of Katrina, I brought tears to my eyes that a city in the midst of such a catastrophy (and a basically poor city, at least a lot poorer than SD) fought like heck to keep their team. It meant more to them than just football and the pride the citizens showed when they reopened the dome was inspiring. Made me feel ashamed about the Charger situation here. Does SD really care about anything that passionately, or really care about anything in general, I don't see it and I've lived here 37 years.

Qualcomm is in a TERRIBLE location relative to its size and traffic needs. The one-lane access from Friars after a left turn past two street lights makes you wonder what city planners were thinking. Access is just **** poor, and on game day the backup on I-15 stretches for miles in both directions. I live in the area, and this is one more reason to be annoyed with its presence here and proposal to fund its successor with taxpayer money. Running dedicated exit ramps off I-8 and I-15 would have been trivial, if they want to use taxpayer money for that I would have been all for it. Luxury boxes... not so much.

Qualcomm was built in 1967, and I'm sure the traffic was different back them. Traffic is just as bad downtown when there's any type of event at Petco, also.

1967 was a long time ago. Surely they could have used the past 50 years to add some ramps as needed?
