Walkable? Things to do? Parking situation? Going for a few spring break days with my teenagers. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

It a tourist trap. Lots of little shops, restaurants, there's a park. You can park for free across from the trolley station.

Very walkable! Lots of little souvenir shops, some pretty good Mexican food, and the very cool Whaley House! Parking can be brutal, so if you have the option to go on a weekday in the earlier part of the day, it makes a big difference.

There's free parking across from the trolley station, but I don't know how fast it fills up.

I've never parked there, but some of my co-workers do when we're working an event in the Gaslamp, and they don't have any problems finding a space.

Oh, great! It is always crazy when I have been there, even when it is not the weekend. Guess it is hit or miss.

It not completely a tourist trap as several authentic things there. I kind of like the low key vibe. Seaport Village is a trap, though with nice views and walking. What else will you do with the teens as Old Town will not hold them for more than a half a day. Try the beach too.

I've been a few times. It's nice & I always felt safe. Yes, there's shops & a couple restuarants. And that haunted Whaly House, which I've never stepped into myself.

The whole area's fun. It loses it's luster after you've been a few times though.

By the way, you might as well go to Seaport Village too, which is another touristy area with shops & restaurants right near the water. The scenery is very pretty there!

For good shopping, go to the Fashion Valley Mall. It's on Friars.

Look these places up...they all have websites.
