I want to take pics of SD surfers and send them to my amigos who live in other states. Where's the best place to take them? TIA.

I think Swami's in Encinitas is a good place for surf photography from a distance. It is right off the 101 about a few miles north of Solana Beach. There is a cross street named "Swami's". Take that and you will find an elevated spot in a park with a parking lot to take distance photos. For something close up, I would recommend either Wind and Sea or Ocean Beach. Probably two of the closest breaks in San Diego to the shore.

By the way, you asked for a location in Chula Vista with views a while back. I found a Starbucks on East H and Mount Miguel Road that has an incredible view of Downtown and Pt Loma. It is located in a small strip mall. This is about three miles east of Southwest College on East H. Check it out.

Thanks, Swami. There's also a great hiking trail near the Eastlake Starbucks in a place called Mt. Miguel Community Park with a great overview of San Diego.
