Starting to see more homes for sale than I've seen in a while. I spotted 3 homes in a row on a street in Clairemont all with for sale signs. Looks like sellers are wanting to get top dollar while they can...

Me too. I think someone just flipped on the 'buyer's market' switch.

From that site.

Should I Sell My San Diego Home?
You could hang onto your home for another 20%, but if enough San Diegans do keep their home off the market due to greed, the repercussions could be serious. This holding onto property is happening all over North America. With nowhere to go, there’s likely not going to be a big selloff anytime soon so price rises could elevate. To ease this crisis, governments could offer incentives for home sellers to let go of their property? For sure, new housing will not ease this crisis. What will make a difference is Realtors convincing people to sell their homes and move on with their lives.

While the housing shortage is true and will not change anytime soon, the conclusion above is just stupid. Most people are not holding onto their homes out of greed. They just do not want to move.

I've been following a bunch of different sites and not really seeing flattening. Of course, being in that field, there might be some "normalizing" so to speak of numbers. Most data arrays can be skewed to tell a story.

I've read other articles by realtors urging people to sell their homes. One woman wrote a long piece about how much happier everyone would be if they "right-sized" (which as far as I can tell, means all couples without children or whose children are grown should sell their houses and move into little condos so others can have their houses). Then at the end, she admitted that this was her effort to "solve the housing crisis." Not sure how playing musical chairs with real estate is going to solve any crisis or do anything except make all the people who move pay more property tax.

Well, home musical chairs generates nice commissions for the real estate agents

That is it, as if few homes sell, few commissions are available for LOTS of real-estate agents. They are trying to drum up business so the "greed" is on their part. Mind you wanting to make money at your job is not greed, but pushing others to sell, etc borders on it.

Of course realtors would like people to sell their homes. That's how they make their money.

I see a bit more inventory in a few areas, but not statistically significant in terms of filling the need. In particular, I've been tracking the "starter home" market using under $500,000 across the county, and that has not significantly increased since January as far as I can see.
