I am a committed, passionate Christian. I have believed God has been leading up to me working full time for Him, & 'living by faith' ie not doing a paid job, but trusting Him to ensure I have food to eat.
Suddenly the mold spore allergy I have has become life-threatening, and I have til September to relocate to a desert climate area (where I have no allergy problems ! ).
What church(es) in San Diego could anyone recommend that I contact, who may be interested in what I have to offer people with problems (of various types) in return for giving me food & a place to pitch my small tent to live in?
Obviously, I would need to talk with the church, and give them details about me, but with a short time scale, recommendations of church(es) to approach would be very welcome, thank you.

Why September? Do you have toxic mold in your house?

Sounds like what you need is a good detox under a doctor's care and and other supportive medical care. Your immune system may well have been damaged by mold. Living in a parking lot in San Diego or living in a desert aren't long-term solutions. People who have no allergies come to the desert and develop them. I'm saying this from personal experience, both as someone who lives in Phoenix (clearly a desert, save for all the building and grass) and as someone with chemical allergies.

My suggestion is to immediately start working with an MD or DO who is a specialist in integrative medicine. This one I found with high marks on Yelp:
Linda Olafson, MD - Home

If you can't afford it, do what you can in terms of having your environment cleaned, you removed from your environment, and/or starting to heal your immune system.

God bless, and best of luck.

Paul trusted in God AND worked (tent maker) I don't think CA would be any different to God.

Thank you LagunaMom
Its the spore count in the air that gets too high in a climate that isnt a desert one.
After nearly dying this last winter, Ive investigated, and when I visited San Diego last year, and had no allergy problem, I now know the average mold spores in the air there are 2,000 per cubic metre, but 55, 000 in the winter where I live. (That huge difference explains why I nearly didnt survive this last winter).

I've been too ignorant regarding the allergy problem I developed after years of living in a moldy appartment, and now the allergy has got this severe, although I did get the appartment cleared of mold. I was warned about possibly developing more allergies, but dont have problems with most chemicals, thankfully. When Ive been able to afford them, I have bought herbs for immune sysrem. I have also been eating a wholefood, no additives etc diet.
I cant afford medical help but thank you for your reccomendation.
Bless you too.

To expatCA Im sorry I dont understand what you mean

The only work I have done (and I'm actually good at( is care work/support work with people with dementia/life crises etc.
I'm not intending not to work but to spend all my time doing that type of work.
But I have been too ill to work, and have only just recovered enough to start again, but I'm being honest that I still have limitations.
Also, my understanding is that there have always been Christians who 'wotk full time for God' and are given basic needs by other members of the church family.I am only hoping for food, nothing more.
Also, I dont believe God saved my life twice this last winter for me to just stay and go through that extreme suffering, probably die after September, when if I live elsewhere, I could be helping others (the work God has been equipping me forto do better, and for people with a much wider range of problems than before).
If I have misunderstood what you meant I would welcome you 'putting me straight' about it.
Thanks : )

Thanks LagunaMom
I wrote a reply but it doesn't seem to have posted. If it has apologies for repeating things

I am allergic to mold spores in the air.
I developed the allergy because I lived in an appartment with mold. When I realised, (much of it was hidden) I got it sorted. But I stayed too ignorant about the issue, and the allergy has progressed to being this bad.
When I visited San Diego last year I had no allergy problems at all, and was much more well.
I have just started researching, and have discovered that a typical mold spore amount in the air there is 2000 per cubic metre. Where I live it has been around 55,000 for several months. Those figures very obviously explain why I havebeen so ill.
I've tried various masks and air purifiers but they haven't worked well enough. I eat wholefoods (without additives) and if I've been able to afford it, have bought herbs for immune system.
Thanks for the medical recommendation, but,;yes, I can't afford it.
Bless you too.

I nearly died a few times, too, so I know what this is like. While we're of different faiths (I'm Jewish), and I can't speak for the Almighty, I think we rarely know what He has in store for us. You've got a good heart. Don't give up. Unfortunately, these things tend to progress.

I had a mold problem, and I can't remember the supplement my doctor gave me, but one of the best (and cheapest) things to detox with is bentonite. I use Sonne's. It's nothing more than ground up volcanic rock in water. You take it an hour away from food or meds. Great for food poisoning, too. It adheres to the junk in your body. It's something like $20 for a big bottle that will last for months.

Sonnes Organic Foods Inc – Since 1946 » #7 DETOXIFICANT ~ 32 oz. (liquid)

Have you gotten into any online support groups? People have gone through this and can be a tremendous support system for you.

I know this is embarrassing, but I'm going to suggest it, anyway. (Favorite saying is, "Pray as though it depends on God; act as though it depends on you.) Even though you can't afford the medical care, start calling and networking through alternative MDs/DOs/Yahoogroups. Bit by bit, you might come up with something. Herbs can be tricky to work with.

Hang in there, and I'll say a prayer for you. Nobody should be forced to live in a tent in the middle of the city because they're sick. Take care.

Hopefully, you realize San Diego is a Micro-Climate, and not all desert.

Hi,

Paul is an example and really the only one in scripture, other than maybe Aquila and Priscilla.

All three worked to make the money to supply their needs. Paul also used gifts, voluntary, that some gave.

I understand you position and needs, but scripture does not indicate a church/ekklesia should support someone simply ding good works. Such works should be a gift from the giver, not a basis for support. You may be limited in what you can do, and that would mean making choices where you could support yourself and where you could do so.

The only scriptural basis for support is for those who are Ministers/teachers/Pastors In the Congregation and even then it is not a requirement of the church but a gift if they wish as we saw with the Apostle Paul, who make tents to support himself.

This is not to say6 you do not have a good heart at all, just that scripture speaks of one working to supply their needs.
