Default Which area of San Diego is best ??

Hi, I will like to move to San Diego sometime in the future ! I would like to know which part of the city is best ??? Which neighboord is nice and not too expensive ? what about transportation in the city and around ?? Subways ???? !!!
I lived in New York for a long time and I am sick of it!! Too cold !! Too busy !!Please reply with some valuable info about the city in general !!!

Spend a little time reading through the older posts in this forum, you will get a wealth of information from there. It's helpful to us if you have more specific questions.

Also, here is a useful chart to see average home prices in 2007 for every neighborhood in SD. It is broken down by geographic location, and further by zip codes:

Notice where the lowest home values are. They are likely to be the least desirable places to live in San Diego.

"best" can be different for everybody. San Diego has a lot of diverse neighborhoods. So you should think about what things you want in a place to live. And what is most important to you. Generally, family's like poway, carmel mountain, and places in north county like carlsbad for example. And a lot of younger people prefer to be closer to Downtown, or in the more beachy areas like PB or parts of la jolla...it really jsut depends on you....and how much you can afford on an apt.
