Yes, that's how my daughter found her apartment. She spent several weekends walking around the area where she wanted to live, knocking on the doors of complexes that she liked until she found a manager who had an upcoming vacancy. But, you have to have time and commitment to find something that way.

I don't walk around knocking on door of complexes, because I won't live in a complex. I'm living in one now only because I had no choice at the time, and I'm tired of being around screaming kids. So in addition to the criteria that I have for finding another place, I hope to find one with no kids.

Where are you living these days?
I'm guessing it's some compound or shack in Idaho or Montana. He'll tell you about it in his manifesto.

Vancouver, WA. Our home overlooks the Columbia river and the gorge. It's fantastic. Still have a rental in San Diego, but that will be gone soon. In fact I'm in SD right now. Hotter than hell.

LOL. Now I can't get that picture out of my head. Thanks TristramShandy!

Vancouver is gorgeous. You sound like you're in a good spot. Glad to hear you'll be getting rid of your rental. You're getting out at a good time. Prices in my hood are at peak prices of the bubble years.

Ok, hope you still post even after you sell your place. Although I disagree with many of your posts (especially the ones saying never get married, never have kids, yadda, yadda, yadda) I enjoy them.

Vancouver (WA) is the new San Diego (climate).
