What an absolute bargain and hopefully others will follow their lead.

Yes, my community college of choice started offering this incredible benefit last semester, not quite as cheap as AA Units but still less expensive than SDSU and of course the other private schools around.

Mira Costa up in OSIDE is the other local college offering a four year program. Something like twenty junior colleges statewide are doing this.

That's awesome! It should take some of the load off of the other schools.

San Diego Mesa College Bachelor's Degrees
And the thing that's cool is the major that they are offering the 4 year degree in, Health Information Management, is a field that there is a lot of demand.

Hopefully, eventually they'll offer other majors besides just the one. (Mira Costa only offers one major as well).

I also like the plan that Imperial Valley College offers --- kids can get their bachelor's from SDSU while enrolled at IVC. They cross enroll for courses offered at SDSU's Imperial Valley classes yet don't pay any extra than what they pay for IVC. However, the program also offers limited majors. Still, it would be great if more community colleges offered similar programs.

This^
I met a kid in class last night that is on the waiting list for this coarse. It's not an easy program by any means but its cheap.
The Big Schools will never allow community colleges to start offering more 4 years degrees. The big boy colleges would lose their pants if this happened.

Eventually, I think we'll see more partnerships like the SDSU-Imperial Valley CC one. All of the Cal States and some of the UCs are above capacity, especially in certain majors and I expect that will only get worse over time, not better. The UCs and Cal States, for the most part, can't "build out" their campuses and add more space, so they'll eventually need to start looking for other spaces to deliver their programs and keep up with demand. What's holding this back now is not the individual campuses but the way the original state regulations defined the purpose of each of the systems (UC, CSU, CC). That would need to change in order to allow more partnerships of this type.

State capped enrollment and overnight Mesa had the traffic of SDSU. They had 35,000 students jockeying for 3300 parking spaces. The need is there.
