And I'm sure these articles mean absolutely nothing, but it's nice to see SD getting some national attention. Whether it's true or not, is the real question.

Totally agree! Only problem is they are clustering way too many jobs in Carlsbad and those areas far away from central San Diego.

Perhaps they are doing that on purpose to possibly attract some talent from South OC??

That's great news!
As more of these companies come to San Diego housing will become more of an issue.

On the other side of the coin, it's great news for those of us in the tech space who live in North County.

A friend of mine who works on that same campus for Arris said that this Google office will be doing robotics for the medical industry.

And speaking of Google, looks like Google Fiber is coming to SD. Does that mean we'll have more choices other than Cox and AT&T?

This area is probably closer to the university. They do hire a lot of professors who still want to teach part time.

There are lots of South OC people who already commute to Carlsbad mostly, but also Sorrento Valley and UTC. I think San Diego has tons of employed and underemployed folks that make up a large enough pool of talent that they don't need OC help at all. That doesn't mean some folks won't try. It's ultra competitive out in SoCal.

This is awesome news for San Diego.
