Hi,

What are the best hospitals to work for in the San Diego area?

I lived in San Diego in the early 2000's and loved it.

Thanks!

There are several potential options depending on your requirements and who is hiring. For example, check out Scripps (several locations), Sharp, Rady Chilkdren's and Mercy,

The reason I ask is that SD is very competitive. Depending upon where you like to work and have your best experience you may want to do a travel assignment first. It can be hard to find a staff job even with excellent experience.

From experience, our top choices:
- Sharp
- UCSD Thornton
- Scripps Memorial (La Jolla, Encinitas)

Bottom choices:
- Mercy
- VA (Veterans Administration)

You also have Kaiser. Kaiser is hard to get in because they pay their RNs very well but it is worth a try. I know several RNs that want to work at Kaiser.
