I'm fed up with T-Mobile's poor coverage in the northeast portion of the city (RPQ, RB, 4S, Scripps, etc) and would like to jump ship. I know Sprint is inferior so they're out of the question.

I've read a couple people on this subreddit claim that Verizon is the better of the two but would like some more opinions before making a decision. I travel for work anywhere within 20 miles of Normal Heights which is why the coverage is important.

I'll be switching to an MVNO and not AT&T or Verizon proper so recommendations for those are welcome as well.

For coverage, remember "VATS". Verizon > AT&T > T-Mobile > Sprint.

DH has AT&T. I have T-Mobile. Only once have I had coverage when he didn't. Neither of us is willing to pay Verizon rates.

I switched from TM due to spotty call quality. Now I have Cricket, which is suppose to use ATT's towers. I am very happy with the service so far. A good thing about them is all taxes and fees and included in the price.

I switched to Verizon after having coverage problems in various parts of the county (and after some really horrendous customer service snafus) with ATT and have been very happy with them for the past 7 years.

Verizon has terrible 4G and 3G service in North County. I even had to invest in a Verizon Network Extender for my North County home. Unless you are traveling along a main roadway corridor, do not expect decent a decent signal.

Where in North County, specifically? I spend a lot of time in North County for work and/or recreation, and have never had an issue.
