Default Valley Center,CA 92082. vs. Alpine,CA 91901

Where to move is the climate better in Alpine as in not to hot in the summer?
I would assume crime is similar in both places.
Better for a small business owner to commute to nearest town?
Is it possible to make a buck in Escondido or will you be undercut?
Is the commute from Valley Center bad?

Would like to hear from people that have been to both places!

Pretty similar.
Both have terrible commutes to San Diego.

Personally I would choose Alpine, I just like that area more.

Valley Center has more of a Community feel - (I've lived in both places) and the commute from VC is better (I live there now) because you can go to Riverside/Temecula or Escondido and south to San Diego - or catch the Sprinter or Coaster trains - and there's a huge employment base in North County, so it's close to that as well.

One other consideration: Air quality in Alpine is often worse, according to the weather page in the newspaper.
