Updated question.

Would the CBX bridge be affected by Trump's border shut down if it were to happen?

Scheduled to fly to Cabo this Saturday from TJ, and back the following Saturday with my wife and kids for spring break.

Needless to stay my wife is freaked out that we're going to get stuck in Mexico if the CBX bridge is closed upon our return.

I've tried googling to find any info, but all info is about the San Ysidro/Otay Mesa border crossings.

Anybody have any info to help on this?

Thanks.

I don't think this is a question any of us can answer when the president says this. My guess would be if he does close the border down, it would be for a day just to make a point.

Just go, don't let your money go to waste if everything is booked. If you are a US citizen you cannot be denied entry back into your country.

Here is the US consulate info in Tijuana in case anything actually does happen.

Called the CBX, and spoke to a customer service rep. I asked if the bridge would be shut down also if Trump closes the border. She said that they have no information on that, and that the BP/ICE has not given them any instruction on how it would be.

Ugh.

There's no way I can take my wife and kids into Mexico if there is a chance we can get stuck in TJ on the way home.

I was in TJ today passing through the new PedWest. Business as normal but you can feel the tension at the gate.

I have SENTRI but it amazes me why the USA spends millions on a new port of entry and only has one or two officers at a time to man the stations.....and the Xray machine is often not in service. There really is alot more we can do without closing the border.

I would think the airline situation would not be affected. I could be wrong but that would be REALLY foolish to tarnish especially when both cities SD/TJ are trying to promote the usage of it. Why buy tickets to fly out of TJ if you fear a border closure. I was almost set to book a flight but glad I didn't.

Closing the border is a HUGE mistake.

If I happen to be down there when and if it closes, I would probably park my vehicle somewhere safe and cross back illegally on foot with my United States passport in hand and just take the hit.

It's not going to close.
